Do You Have Too Many Passions For Just One Blog?

Believe It Or Not – There is Hope For Us!

Are you frustrated because you’ve got so many passions and you can’t seem to fit them into one blog?  You’ve started half a dozen blogs because you keep reading that your blog should be focused on one theme and you want to write about all of your passions. A blog isn’t supposed to have travel, inspiring women, children’s books and health…right?.

I’m here to tell you that you can fit all of your passions into one blog. You might not be able to see it right now, but it is possible. What you need in order to accomplish this is one core theme for the site.

Instead of thinking of your blog as a health blog (which it will be) — think of it as a lifestyle blog. You can incorporate quite a few things into a lifestyle blog as long as the blog has a central theme that ties it all together.

I was right there with you. In fact, until recently I was getting frustrated because I had a travel site, a business site, a health site and a children’s book site. They were all in different stages of growth.  I have some that I’ve spent hours on and others that I’ve just bought the domain, but plan to build up.  I was having an extremely hard trying to focus on all of them or one subject. I would write a blog post for one site and work on that site for a few days.  Then I’d go to another site and do the same thing because those were my passions as well.

I knew there was a better way, but I could not see it. My problem was that I was not seeing the right theme. I thought it had something to do with inspiration because I’m a single mom who works at home, is going to travel for a year with my son and homeschools. Inspiration just made sense to me, but I couldn’t fit all of the pieces together into one blog.

My Turning Point Was Inspired By a Truly Successful Multi-Passionate Blogger

Yesterday I had a brainstorming session with someone that I admire a lot. She has an amazing business sense and a thriving health blog. Her name is Lynn Terry and she owns Low Carb Traveler. I was hopeful that she would be able to help me combine my passions into one blog and she did! She saw the thread that I couldn’t – health.

It was very interesting because I barely mentioned my health blog and it was more in a passing comment, but she latched onto that blog and helped me see that health encompasses so much more than your physical body and what you eat.

I will definitely talk about health, nutrition, food and fitness – but she helped me connect the dots with the other areas of my passion.

I’ve got passions that do not seem to connect well. Like my children’s books. I want to write them. How does that work with my health blog? My children’s books are going to be about inspiring women. I plan to create beginner readers for young girls.

What does this have to do with health? Being inspired and having a healthy mindset is essential to living a healthy life. It was that simple for this subject. So with this same thought, I’ll be able to talk about mindset and women who I find inspiring.

I’m looking forward to my blogging journey and can’t wait. You should feel the same way, but finding the theme can be difficult if you’re a multi-passionate entrepreneur.
